COAL
Coal is a black lab/boxer mix male about 9 months old and 60-70 lbs. He is up to date on all of his shots, housebroken and crate trained, and knows some basic commands. He's fantastic with children of all ages and an overall great dog. He has a neuter appointment set up and it will be completed this month. He is currently living with another dog and he is a bit much for her. If you are looking for a friendly young dog to bond with, Coal may be just right for you. Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in meeting him.

CARSON
Look at this handsome boy! Carson is a 2-3 year old German Shepherd mix who weighs just under 70 lbs. He just completed heart worm treatment and is doing excellent. He has received his annual vaccinations and rabies shot and he is already neutered. Since he has started feeling better, Carson is a lovable, cuddly goof! He loves to play non-stop with other dogs but he is submissive and polite. He gets along well with both male and female dogs of all ages. We couldn't be more lucky to have him and he is going to make the perfect family very happy. Right now he seems a bit interested in cats, but if you are willing to provide training we think he can coexist peacefully with feline friends. Carson should be recovered and ready for adoption in early February but please fill out an adoption application now if you are interested.

PAIGE
adopted!
Paige is a 5 month old Carolina dog mix puppy at our best guess. She is a typical friendly, excited, and playful pup. Paige is a step ahead of the rest and is making really good progress on her house training! She does not mess in her crate overnight and knows to potty outside. She has one blue eye and one brown eye and absolutely loves to jump all over you and give kisses. She is at the perfect age to train. Being a puppy, Paige is good with both other dogs and cats. She has not been exposed to other puppies since being in our care and seems exceptionally healthy and in high spirits. Paige does have an umbilical hernia but per the advice of several vets it will be an easy fix at the time of her spay surgery and she can go to a home at any time. She is up-to-date on her shots. If you are interested in adding Paige to your home, please fill out an adoption application.

NADIA
adopted!

ANGEL
She is an extremely outgoing and friendly girl, and does well with cats and other dogs. She loves to play with all kinds of toys, especially the kind she can pull the stuffing out of! She loves to play with other dogs, but will sometimes tease and pick on them because she is still young. She needs to have a doggie friend who is tolerant of this behavior and a family that can provide leadership to her. She would also be fine as an only dog.
Angel is active but not overactive. She likes to lounge around, but also loves to go, go, go! Walks and plenty of playtime are key to keeping Angel balanced and happy. Angel does very well with children and strangers, but it may take her a minute or so to warm up to older men with beards. A fenced yard is required. If Angel is the beautiful girl you have been looking for, please fill out an Adoption Application. Chances are she's been looking for you too!

IVY

ARROW

TATER
Tater is a 6 year old neutered Jack Russell Terrier. He is used to being around other dogs inside a home and is well-mannered around his canine buddies. He doesn't like cats, and he will need to go to a cat-free home. He needs lots of exercise and room to run so a fenced yard is a must for Tater. He is a wonderful lap dog as well as a superstar athlete - the best of both worlds! Tater is being fostered in Frankfort KY and would love to meet you today! If you are interested in Tater, please fill out an Adoption Application.

SHAMUS
Shamus is a 7 year old, neutered male Great Pyrenees. He is cookie-cutter example of the temperament of Great Pyrs, so be sure to research the breed before considering him. He is an extra-large dog and will be space to move around the house and play outside. A fenced yard is required for Shamus. He gets along well with children, but small children may be knocked down due to his size. He doesn't realize just how big he is! Shamus does well with other dogs but he prefers to be the leader of the pack. He is being fostered in Frankfort, KY and would love to meet you!If you are interested in Shamus, please fill out an Adoption Application.

KIMMY
Kimmy is a 7 year old plott hound mix. She has been spayed and is up to date on her shots. We are trying to find her a home that is maybe a farm where she can run a lot. She loves the outdoors and loves to run. She is very sweet and loves dogs - she really has to have a playmate. She gets depressed when she is alone. She also need to have people time. She is very much a people person and loves to be around people. She really is a good dog that is just a bundle of energy that is looking for someone who wants a high energy loving dog for a playmate for their dog or to have around for company. Now the downside. She does like to chew. If you can keep things away from her and give her chew toys she is pretty good about it. But you would want to keep a watchful eye on her and ‘dog proof’ your home. Also she needs to be crated when you are not home. Kimmy is house trained and crate trained and is pretty good in the house if you can control her chewing habit. Kimmy does NOT do well with cats. Also, she will also jump fences that are not 6 feet tall. She does not really go anywhere, maybe a house or two away but depending on the neighbors this could be a problem. As you can see she is a handful, but if the right family gave her a home and the room to roam she really is a very good dog. If you would like more info contact, please her foster dad Ken at kena.campbell@ky.gov or by cell at 502.320.4755

* * * We are looking to move Ivy into a new foster home so that we can free up some space for new intakes. She has been deemed healthy and adoptable and does not need to be quarantined. This would be a great opportunity for you to help. If you are interested in fostering her, please contact us at gbcr@mail.com. * * *
