OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide emotional and physical care for abandoned and unwanted Kentucky dogs until they can be re-homed with an adoptive family. Through community outreach and education we hope to advance the human-canine bond as well as lower the amount of unwanted dogs in the state. Our focus is the rescue of dogs found in rural Kentucky shelters, specifically black dogs and Shepherd mixes.

 MEET THE VOLUNTEERS

Erin Level, President & Director

Erin has been involved with animal rescue since the summer of 2007. She was a foster mom and a volunteer for a rural Kentucky shelter before organizing GBCR. She has Ripley, Adrian and Rocko, her 3 permanent rescued canine buddies as well as Brodie, the official GBCR "cat tester." Erin continues to foster at her home for GBCR.

Bradley Edwards, Secretary & Director

Brad has been involved with the care and training of dogs his whole life. His family growing up never said no to a stray dog, and they always had many dogs living inside with them. He has a passion for seeing animals bloom in a stable environment and has never been afraid to get his hands a little dirty in the process.

Brian Level, Volunteer

Brian is the creative mind behind the rescue. As a self-employed small business owner in Northern Kentucky, Brian has the drive and know-how to keep our logo and promotional materials looking sharp. Brian has always loved dogs and owns Ripley, Adrian, and Rocko with his wife Erin. He has been very patient and forgiving of the constant whirlwind of dogs coming in and out of his home and he certainly makes lots of "girlfriends" with the foster dogs that fall in love with him.

Lindsay Ursillo, Vice President & Director

Lindsay has been an animal lover since a child. She was raised with dogs and cats and still loves to help animals in need. She is a great resource and helps lead the rescue in the right direction. She is a registered nurse and she is an instructor at a local college.

Jennifer Casey, Chairman of the Board & Director

Jennifer is a great addition to the GBCR directors. She owns 4 dogs of her own and fosters as well. She lives on a hobby farm with her husband, children, and her goats, chickens, horses, and barn cats. She is a professional groomer who grooms both dogs and cats and does very specialized forms of grooming at her shop in Harrison OH. She is very passionate about our cause and she helps in any way possible.

Jessica Zielinski, Director

Jessica is the newest addition to the GBCR directors. She has a love for animals and is willing to help us spread the word about doggies in need. She has Harvey, a rescued golden retriever mix and a cat. She is also a large breed lover and helps us to foster these gentle gianrts.
